41 Years with the State - The Story of Albert Smith, his life in his own words. The Sudan, Boer War, the Somme and “dads’ Army”. This is a story told by Albert, from his own diary kept for over forty years. It’s also a story that brings together the words of Lord Kitchener, Winston Churchill, William McGonagall and many others. Together these men, who surely never met Albert, shared many experiences with him that shaped their lives forever.

A Hero in our Midst - The Story of Norman Broughton, who for 60 years was believed to have been drowned at Dunkirk, until his nephew did some digging.

Norman Broughton was a Private in the Second Battalion of the Lincolnshire Regiment, and is buried in a cemetery in Belgium having died whilst covering the withdrawal of the British Expeditionary Force at Dunkerque in 1940.
